Vice President Human Resources | TCH Resource Inc.

Overview: An executive level position for a privately held consumer products manufacturing company in Southern Connecticut. The position serves as a strategic business leader for the company?s corporate headquarters and three manufacturing sites. Position best suited for a strong generalist with the business acumen and communication skills to support the President and the Senior Executive team. Must also have a strong track record of developing and implementing programs for leadership development, recruiting and positive ownership culture.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years in progressively responsible HR positions, the last 5 of which have headed up an HR function. Demonstrable expertise in:

Employee Relations:

? Understands and honors the delicate alliance that an employer should have with its employees, actively acknowledging that company success is dependent on their labor and willingness to go the extra mile.

? Strong advocate of open door policy believing that it is the keystone of all other Bigelow policies: gets management to get past ?hurt feelings/bruised ego? and to focus on why the EE felt the need to go to someone else.

? Committed to ?High Touch? ER environment with background in implementing variety of programs that build a positive ER environment (EE Opinion Surveys, EIT, Talent Mgt, etc.)

? 3-Part Representation meaning the ability to credibly wear, balance and juggle three hats that frequently bump into each other: Company, Management, Employee.

? Problem solver, confidante, able to broker an agreement/solution.

? Skilled coach, mentor, consultative partner, and when needed, disciplinarian.

? Commitment to positive ER culture permeates nearly all daily activities including strategic thinking, decision-making processes, departmental and personal goals, etc.

? Insuring flexibility on a daily basis to address employee concerns, service issues, etc.

Group Benefits Planning and Direction:

? Solid background especially in-group health cost containment strategies and plan design alternatives. (CEBS certification w/b highly desirable).

? Metrics driven and quality driven.

? Demonstrable experience in consumer (EE) engagement, as for example CDHP models (Consumer Driven Health Plans), dynamic wellness initiatives that tie benefits (HRA or other $) to specific wellness activities by the EE).

? Networking background with broker, carrier, legislative and other relevant resources indicating a spirit of forward thinking and openness to diligently explore any and all benefits possibilities.

? Firmly grounded in benefits cost analysis and cost projections.

? Knowledgeable with respect to ERISA and other benefits related compliance requirements.

Employment:

? Solid background as in-house consultant on staffing models/ratios, human resource forecasting based on business planning models.

? Demographic strategist on current and future workforce planning requirements as they relate to needed skill sets, training and development, benefits impacts (health plan, retirement plan, etc.), succession planning, internal promotability, etc.

? Recruitment: expertise in interviewing and selection, use of behavioral assessments, candidate sourcing through direct and/or outside consultants, skilled in talent identification and matching up skill sets with current and future organizational needs. Committed to position the company as the Employer of Choice.

? Retention: knowledgeable and committed regarding EE retention programs, motivational programs, EE recognition programs such as On The Spot, EE Suggestion Box, Service awards, etc.

Performance Management:

? Strong background in performance management methodologies including 360 feedback, personal development plans, behavioral assessment resources (CCL, Hogan Suite, Myers-Briggs, etc.).

? Effective performance coach for all levels of the workforce.

Training & Development:

? Well developed platform training skills capable of delivering clear presentations to all levels of the workforce, from the Board Room to the factory floor.

? Knowledgeable and well connected to a wide spectrum of outside training resources tailored to meet the evolving T & D needs of the company.

Safety & Risk Management:

? Solid background in effective loss control programs that engage the employee and develop him/her into a skilled safety practitioner through such programs as STOP, The 10 Feet Around You, etc.

? Skilled in accident investigation including root cause analysis.

? Skilled in loss prevention strategies including leading as well as trailing indicators.

? Knowledgeable in safety related compliance requirements including OSHA and workers comp procedures and insurance coverage.

Compliance:

? Up to date working knowledge of major compliance areas including Title VII, OFCCP/AAP, state regs, complaint/charge process, EPL coverage and attorney management.

? Core belief in and commitment to fair employment practices.

Executive:

? Is recognized as a member of the executive team more because of behavior, contributions, support to colleagues, etc., than because of title.

? When not in attendance at an EC meeting, his/her input is missed.

? Is relied upon by EC team members as a partner, consultant, steady support and available resource.
