COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT, School of Architecture and Planning (part-time, 30 hrs/wk.), to provide social media and e-mail marketing support to the School of Architecture and Planning; School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences; and MIT Arts Initiatives. Will work with the communications directors of all three entities to help develop, maintain, and expand overlapping social media programs on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other platforms, raising the visibility of MIT's endeavors in architecture, art, media, writing, humanities, music, and theater. Will also work with each area on related communications tasks including the creation of e-newsletters.

REQUIREMENTS: fluency with social media practices and platforms including Facebook and Twitter; proficiency with HootSuite, Constant Contact, MailChimp, Drupal, WordPress, and HTML coding; and proven ability to work collaboratively, juggle competing demands successfully, and work somewhat independently. Microsoft Office, FileMaker, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Google Analytics and Google Reader skills strongly desired. Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills needed. Familiarity with and an interest in the arts and humanities strongly preferred. Five years of direct/related experience and a bachelor's degree in communications or related field preferred.
